What you are buying, what we do not do, and what happens when something goes wrong.
This is a plain-language notice, not legal advice and not the agreement itself. Where this page and the signed agreement differ, the agreement governs.

What you are buying
Vumasign sends documents for signature, seals the completed result, and keeps the audit trail that proves what happened. You pay per completed envelope on the plan you choose, monthly, and you can change or stop a plan yourself at any time.
An envelope is counted when it completes, however many documents it held and however many people signed it. The free plan stops at five a month rather than billing you for the sixth.
What we do not do
We do not give legal advice, and we do not decide whether your document may be signed electronically. Some documents may not be — wills, certain property transfers and a short list of others — and “Is it legal?” names them.
We are not a party to anything you send. A dispute about what a document says is between the people who signed it.
Your content stays yours
Documents you upload and the data in them belong to you. We process them to run the service and for nothing else: no training, no analysis of your content for our own purposes, no sharing with anyone you have not addressed the envelope to.
You can export every document and every audit trail, on any plan including the free one.
Your account, and who may use it
You are responsible for who you invite into your organisation and for what they send. An API key is a credential: treat a live key the way you would treat the password to the account it belongs to.
We may suspend an account being used to send things that are unlawful, or to send mail to people who did not ask for it. We would rather tell you first, and we will where we can.
Availability, stated honestly
We publish uptime and incidents rather than promising a number we have not yet operated long enough to stand behind. When there is a contractual service level it will be a document, not a sentence on a marketing page.
Sealing is the part that matters most. A sealed document that will not verify is the failure we will drop everything for.
Ending it
You can close the account whenever you like. Export first — the sealed PDFs are yours and they verify without us, but once the account is closed the data goes with it. A copy we kept “just in case” would be a copy you did not authorise.
South African law governs this agreement, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction.
